SPRUCE SPIDER MITES. Spruce spider mites are “cool season” mites commonly found feeding on fir, arborvitae, spruce, Douglas-fir, and other conifers. Their sucking mouthparts cause bleaching, yellowing, stippling or bronzing of the needles.
